The name's Lady K and this is my writing journey. I've always had a passion for reading and writing, but I had the self-defeating mindset like Marty McFly's dad in Back to the Future- "I never let anyone read my stories. I don't think I could handle that kind of rejection."

I'd start journals and stories, and just stop at some point. Then I hit a transitional period in my life a few years ago and decided enough was enough. The reason I had problems staying motivated to write is because I had absolutely no audience. Now is the time to let everyone read my stories.
My ultimate goal is to get a book published, and the purpose of this blog is to provide some much-needed accountability by sharing my journey with you. I realized a while ago that it wasn't enough to get my ideas and insights down on paper. They needed to be shared. Otherwise they are just the crazy figments of some girl's wild imagination. I decided that if there is at least one person a world of billions that can benefit from my writing, then my writing has real meaning. It has purpose.
So here we are at The Pen and the Muse. I will share my writings as well as my progress on on-going projects, thoughts on the creative process, and things that inspire me in the hopes that they will inspire others. In this way, I hope to discover, create, and share deep, meaningful beauty with the world.
